Better public transport

The current system and structure of public transport in Milton Keynes is not fit for purpose.

The high cost, long journey times and unhelpful route mapping has a disproportionately negative effect on the very families who most need this transport system.

We the undersigned ask MK Council to place the following as priorities when next re-negotiating the transport contract:

  • Affordability
  • Safe travel (especially at night)
  • Sustainability
  • Subsidised child rates
  • Services to include industrial and business areas, where cleaning and grind staff often rely on poor out-of-hours service.

Digital education access

MK Council’s Child Poverty Commission reported in their “21 for 2021” list that they wanted to “ensure all children have the digital tolls they need to aid and improve their learning building upon government schemes”.

We the undersigned recognise that limited access to either computer hardware or the internet is detrimental to a child’s ability to learn in the contemporary educational environment.

We call upon the council to honour its wish to ensure all children have access to adequate computers and the internet at home so that they do not fall behind their peers.
